The PC gaming community can be insular and unwelcoming – creating a negative user experience for anybody who isn't part of the club. Or even worse, be kicked from a match by the server admins with no explanation. It's not uncommon for players to try joining a server, only to find it full. They can be just as time-consuming and pointless as matchmaking. What serious PC gamers don't like to hear, though, is that server lists can be uninviting to anyone but the hardcore. The devoted are right to be annoyed that Modern Warfare 2 won't allow for the way they like to play. There's also the issue of lag: Connections made by matchmaking aren't always reliable.
